Factory motor mounts in the 2010-2018 Audi D4 A8 and S8 4.0T platforms fail catastrophically due to hydraulic fluid leaks and rubber deterioration, causing excessive engine movement, drivetrain misalignment, and premature wear of surrounding components. The OEM design's inability to maintain consistent geometry under load compromises both performance and reliability.

TGK Motorsport's precision-machined 6061 aluminum motor mounts eliminate these failure modes entirely while delivering superior engine control. Our serviceable polyurethane bushing system allows customization between street comfort and track performance without replacing the entire mount assembly.

What is NVH?

NVH stands for Noise, Vibration, and Harshness — the term used to describe how much engine movement, sound, and road feel is transmitted into the cabin of your vehicle. Stock mounts are designed to absorb and isolate these sensations. Aftermarket mounts are built with performance in mind, which changes that balance.

What to expect with aftermarket mounts

Increased vibration in the cabin

You will likely feel more engine vibration through the steering wheel, seats, floor, and gear shifter — especially at idle. This is normal and expected. The stiffer the mount, the more noticeable this becomes.

Improved performance and engine control

The trade-off for increased NVH is a more direct connection between you and the drivetrain. Engine movement is reduced, which can improve throttle response, shift feel, and overall power delivery — especially under hard acceleration.
