AutoMeter GPS speedometers are capable of working with most aftermarket GPS antenna/receivers or with AutoMeter's 5283 GPS antenna. AutoMeter's ultra fast, omnidirectional micro antenna is available separately for true plug and play functionality and never requires calibration. Configurable Rally Nav display shows odometer, trip odometer, time/date, GPS coordinates, heading info, compass, and peak speed recall. Quite simply, the easiest, most accurate speedometer available.

Can this guage be used in a hardtop car?

Yes, this can be used in an automotive application. The marine versions are identical to the automotive versions except they have additional sealing and the GPS speedometer does not include the antenna. Our direct plug in antenna for this model is 5283.

How does hour meter work ? Is it actually tracking engine hour time? I watched video of how to install and I don't see anything about connecting it to a spark plug wire and/or the ignition switch.

Thank you for your question. The Hourmeter is internal on the gauge which tracks time when the vehicle is powered on and running.
