Is it necessary to prime the pressure tubing prior to hook up and use?

Priming the line is not needed. There is an unlimited volume of oil that will compress any air in the line, so pressure reading will be correct.

This gauge is a mechanical gauge and would not have a sending unit with it.

Hi There, This gauge is a mechanical so it would not have a sending unit, but it would have a cable on the back of the gauge with the sensor attached to it.
