What color is the lighting? Can I send the gauge back to have a critical level line added, I.e. red zone.

Mine have a white face so I would say the lighting is neutral because the face show white at night

Thank you for your inquiry. The 5727 is an electric gauge, and generally no line is needed. The sender mounts directly to the engine. If you elect to remotely mount the sender, we do offer braided line in 3, 4, and 6 foot lengths.

Gauge was working fine then it went to left past 0. I start the car and needle doesn’t move. When I rev the engine it reads normal pressure Just past 80. No oil leaks, oil level is same as it always was. is this a common failure?

What is the progression of the thin pressure reading lines on the gauge face? I'd like to know what the number is supposed to be when the needle is between the 0/25/50/75/100.

Thank you for your question. It is a linear movement so the hash mark between those is halfway. Between 0-25 is 13, between 25-50 is 38, between 50-75 is 63, and between 75-100 is 88.

I believe the oil pressure gauge came with a sending unit. It has been a while since I installed it. At the time I called and spoke with a sales person. You would be wise to also do so.

Thank you so much for contacting us. This gauge uses a T3 wedge base style bulb. There are a number of aftermarket LED replacements that will drop right in. We make some very nice ones that will even work with a factory dimmer:

when I turn ignition on needle pegs to 100psi .Do I need to replace the sending unit? or could the gauge be bad?

Hi Dwayne, thank you so much for contacting us. If your gauge is pegging out to 100psi when power is applied, it is commonly because your signal wire is shorted to ground. I would recommend removing the signal wire from the sending unit and powering up the gauge. It should read 0 psi with an open circuit on that signal wire. Touching that wire to ground should cause the gauge to then peg to 100psi. IF it does that, chances are your gauge is fine and you're looking at a sending unit:

Please can you inform me what is the ohm rating of this sender / gauge with ignition off... and when in the engine is running at 40 psi, what is the approximate ideal resistance... Cheers
