Product 8549 DESCRIPTION:
Transmission fluid temperature is the single biggest contributing factor to the lifespan of your automatic transmission. Having an accurate, realtime measurement allows you to know when to downshift or when to take your foot out of it. Whether you’re towing or simply trying to harness the power of a built or boosted motor, AutoMeter’s Trans Temp Gauge will give you the most accurate possible measurement for the exact temp of your trans fluid. A single wire 1/8” NPT temperature sender included to be installed in your transmission, transmission pan or with an optional transmission cooler line manifold is available for easy installation into a transmission cooler hard line.

Works Great
This guage works great, but doesn't quite match the factory cluster on a 2003 Ram 2500. On the guage cluster the fonts are a solid color with no border and the guage has a light font with a outline boarder but both match when lit at night. I have it mounted on a SRT pillar but the keeper needs to be modified slightly. Overall great guage.

This Air Core gauge does not come with wire, Standard 16 gauge wire from any auto parts store will work with this gauge.

I have a 2004 Ram 1500 that I would like to add a pillar mount Tranny temperature gauge. I am looking at your 2-1/16" air-care Gen 3 gauge and would like to know what it looks like when illuminated.

I bought this gauge and the temp sensor that came with it is a little short to touch the fluid in the t fitting I’m using. Do you sell a longer sensor that’ll work with this gauge?

Thank you for your question. This gauge will have three terminals on the back for wiring, a 12v terminal, a ground terminal, and a signal terminal.

Thank you for the question. It would depend on the vehicle make, model, and year. If these are going into a Gen 3 Dodge Ram, we do have some information in our 2008 6.7 liter installation guide here: https://www.autometer.com/resources/index/guide_view/id/7
However, since the gauge is LED lighted and if it's being used in conjunction with other factory instruments, you may have to consider using our 9114 Dimmer Module. Otherwise, if you dim the AutoMeter gauge to an acceptable nighttime level, it may darken the factory gauges too much.

Is there a similar guage available for diff temp? If not can it be custom made? Or the same as trans temp, but say diff temp? Looking to monitor the rear diff temp and my g56 manual transmission.

Thank you so much for contacting us. We do not presently offer a diff temp gauge in this series, and due to the dial construction, it would be prohibitively expensive to build a custom one. You can absolutely use this gauge as a diff temp gauge as there is no difference in the internals or sending unit, it just won't be labelled as such. Sorry for the bad news.

Thank you so much for contacting us. Unfortunately the Factory Match gauges have a fixed lighting configuration. The color stems from a treatment on the dial itself that will always tint the lighting color that same shade of green. Sorry for the bad news.
