Easy to install
I purchased this to get the Chrono Tach working in my 1981 Ford Mustang 03 Cobra swap (4.6L Supercharged) project. The instructions was super easy to follow, install was very simple and I was able to hide it in my glove box for a simple easy installation. A++++ for another fantastic Autometer product.

Just what I didn't know I needed
This adapter also works converting old-school electrical ignition signals to work with new tachs. As many know, it's hard to get points and electrical ignition dizzys to work with modern tachs. This fixes that problem. Just make sure you're not running a high voltage coil and it will work just fine. It is a little spendy for just one function.

Thank you for your question. The 9117 outputs a conventional 12v square wave signal that is compatible with most aftermarket Tachs. I would recommend checking with classic instruments to see if any other adapters would be required on their tach.

Locate the EDIS module located on the driver's side fender well under the hood. It will have a flat 12 cavity connector. Locate the tan wire with a yellow stripe from pin #2. This wire should provide you with a good useable tachometer signal. For further assistance, please contact our technical support at 866-248-6356.

This is correct. Once the coil power source is cut, the end going to to the coils gets red/green and the end receiving power from the harness gets the solid red wire.

I need an adapter that can work for a Harley Davidson dyna s dual fire ignition. I already have a couple tachometers laying around, so if there's a way to make one of them work, that's what I want to do.

We no longer manufacture a Dyna Adapter. Check with Dyna Tech, I believe they make their own adapter for this purpose.

I have a Crane Hi6N CDI in my 67 VW. This is triggered by a mag pickup MSD distributor. My tach will not operate with the CDI as is. I'm wondering if the Auto Meter 9117 will cure this issue? My tach is an Auto Meter 9304 5" Monster Tach.
