Product DL1020U DESCRIPTION:
AutoMeter’s remarkable DashControl™ utilizes your vehicle’s factory display(s) to provide performance information without modification. Available for certain vehicles with a Driver Information Center (DIC), DashControl™ plugs into the OBDII port and “hijacks” these displays, allowing you to monitor parameters from the vehicle’s data bus. Customize the display pages to display what you want, where you want it. Because there is no modification to any of the vehicle’s computer systems, it’s 100% warranty friendly and reversible simply by unplugging the device. It’s the easiest, most integrated solution for gauges yet, and takes only seconds to install.
DashControl™ offers customizable alerts as well. Water temp getting too hot or oil pressure dropping? DashControl™ can activate your factory warning chime and display an alert in the DIC at any value you set. Customization is incredibly easy using our intuitive configuration software. Better still, the system is expandable to add up to two additional analog inputs for parameters not monitored by your vehicle’s computer systems.

Great Features
Just bought this through Car Builder who is a Autometer Dealer along with a Wideband for AFR and Boost to hook into it. Used in a Modded 2011 Camaro SS for 1/2 mile Racing and Street. Great addition to Car Displays. Love having the additional Info on HUD as well as DIC and Radio displays if needed. Only wish it had a Manual to explain some of settings and Customizing via the Computer. Also HUD Tach dissapears with use but does have setting to show RPM. Have a Aural and Visual Warning setup for Shift Points along with AFR and IAT. Look forward diving into the settings more and customizing the Profiles. Pretty easy to set up so far.

Stopped working
I'll update if this gets resolved. First week of use and the dic function stopped working. Then a few days later it randomly won't let me change the page unless i restart. Audible warning i never got to work right. Called 3 times and was told the guy the specializes in them would get back to me. He never did. 4th time the guy said it sounds like a problem with the unit send it in for repairs. I did that and i never got a confirmation that they recieved it or anything so i'm wondering if i just lost my money and my dash control now. If it works correctly it's cool and i like it. If it gets handled i'll update the review, if not assume i lost my money and my unit.

I like it, but could use a labeling method
I use this all the time. Its more convenient than the other similar product I have. The one annoyance is not being able to label things. So, if I have timers for example on multiple screens, I have to remember which screen covers which timer since I can't label the individual timers, or the page as a whole. Either one could achieve the main goal. So instead of saying "page 1", "page 2", etc; allow people to configure the device to display like "general info", or "0-60 timers" or something along those lines. Also wish the display readout was larger. The DIC is definitely capable of larger text, but the device is limited to the top half of the display with small text. I have good eyesight, so I can see it fine, but it could be bigger.

Great addition to my Camaro
I love what this adds to my Camaro, it has tons of Info that I probably won't ever know how to use. Only issue is I don't know how to use or utilize most of the common features that I would like to use. I wish there were some training or something to help me learn how to use it. Otherwise I really love this controller.

I am wondering if there are more features than what are listed? For example by pressing a steering wheel control button signals the car to go into a power or quiet mode... I have been looking on the config software but see nothing of this nature..

It's possible that you won't have the radio display parameter, only the DIC and HUD options.

Thank you for your question. While the instrument cluster is the same, unfortunately there are differences in the SS and HSV GTS that prevent the Camaro DashControl from being compatible.

Exactly which parts would I need to get to install this in my 2010 Camaro SS Automatic that has an aftermarket supercharger? I would for sure want to measure wideband AFR and boost. Do you have installation instructions for the supplemental parts needed?

You will only need the dongle. However to measure AFR you will need to install a kit that will allow you to send a 0-5v reference to the dongle in order to get a proper reading.

Just to clairify, this displays on the center dic and radio at the same time or one or the other? And how do you scroll through the different PIDs? It says you use the lock button to change lists but it is not clear to me. thanks

Hi Greg, as an owner of such a device for about a year now I can tell you that all 3 display options (assuming you are talking about the infotainment) can show different metrics at the same time. The software gives you customizable presets of "pages" you can set, 3 data points at each page and the "lock" button will flip between pages. Example of customizing a single page is gauge cluster for boost, RPM on my HUD and 1/4 mile times on the infotainment, it's quite versatile.
