Touring Edition:

Catback:

A direct bolt-on, straight-through design with a modular inlet featuring an adapter to accommodate the factory downpipe perfectly while leaving an open 3” connection.

The Touring Edition allows the WRX the rumble without rasp or in-cabin drone, while introducing intoxicating crackles when shifting, thanks to AWE’s proprietary drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®. The Touring Edition is all about optimal performance and tone out of the 2.4T while keeping it comfortable within the cabin.

Perfect tone, compliments of AWE 180 Technology®.

As exhaust gases exit the FA24 engine and flow into an AWE 180 Technology® equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. More on AWE 180 Technology® in the tab above.

Axleback:

The Touring Edition Axleback is composed of 2.5” T304L stainless steel, features AWE’s patented drone-canceling 180 Technology®, and bolts on the WRX’s stock mid section via factory spec flanges. Comes complete with new gaskets.

Track Edition:

Catback:

For those looking to take it to 11, and leave it there, go Track.

The Track Edition retains all of the precision engineering from the Touring Edition including the modular 3” inlet and adapter, minus the AWE’s 180 Technology®. The result? Unfiltered BOXER® rumble both in and out of the cabin.

This version is known to get rowdy and may be too much for many. For that reason, this particular version cannot be returned due to sound preference. Prepare yourself.

Axleback:

The Track Edition Axleback is composed of straight lengths of T304L stainless steel with nothing in between the flanges and the tips. This produces a completely uncorked, rowdy soundtrack both in and out of the cabin, and may be a bit much for some at highway speeds. You’ve been warned. Comes complete with new flange gaskets, and saves 14 lbs compared to the stock exhaust.

Tip Options:

All tip options include the AWE logo and double-walling to ensure a mirror finish even under hard usage. All tips are individually adjustable, allowing depth into the bumper to be set according to personal taste.

  • 4” slash-cut chrome silver tips
  • 4” slash-cut diamond black tips

AWE Exhaust for the VB Subaru WRX

What is 180 Technology®?

AWE's patented 180 Technology® works a little something like this: As exhaust gases exit the engine and flow into an AWE 180 Technology®-equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers.

Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. Depending on the sound requirements of each vehicle, AWE acoustic engineers adjust the size and location of the ports and the chambers. By controlling the size and location of these key elements, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves re-join the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies.

Consistency through change.

AWE 180 Technology® is not on a “one size fits all” concept. Rather, AWE engineers design sound cancelation resonators based upon the specific acoustics generated by vehicle types, thereby ensuring perfect sound, every time. It’s one of the reasons AWE exhausts have earned a reputation for the perfect tone, regardless of application.

What it means to you.

The result? The removal of unwanted tones in all AWE 180 Technology®-equipped exhaust systems. The sound produced by this formula is the perfect, signature note. Unlocked performance and spot-on tone, every time.
