A distributor rotor is located inside the distributor cap and is responsible for directing high-voltage electrical current from the ignition coil to the correct ignition wire leading to each spark plug. The rotor spins in sync with the engine’s camshaft and ensures that the spark is delivered at the right time to ignite the air-fuel mixture in each cylinder.

• Engine Misfires: A faulty distributor rotor can cause misfires, leading to rough idling and a loss of power during acceleration. This occurs because the rotor may not properly direct the spark to the appropriate cylinder
• Hard Start: If the rotor is damaged or worn, it may prevent the engine from starting or cause extended cranking before the engine fires
• Rough Idle: A failing rotor can cause the engine to idle unevenly or roughly, which may be accompanied by vibrations or shaking
