We are proud to offer you the official Harness Mounts of the Indy 500 Pace Car.

The C8 harness mount bar has been tested and certified using all possible mounting points by an independent lab to handle the types of forces required by the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin. DOT and SAE J385 Rev. MAR 95, Motor Vehicle Seat Belt Anchorages-Performance Requirements. Strength requirements for harness mounts are considerably greater than those for harness guide bars since they must support the entire load applied to the belts.


The C8 harness mount bar properly locates and supports racing shoulder harnesses relative to the driver. In the case of an accident, it helps protect the driver's shoulders and spine. The harness guides also prevent excessive shifting and fatigue of the driver during the high G loads of cornering and braking. Our bars are easy to install and remove, use only existing holes and mounting points.

Though years of lab testing countless harness mount a we have found that a single bar is not capable of handling the loads required by NHTSA, DOT, SAE, or FIA for seat belt anchorages. Due to the extremely limited space in the C8 we designed a proprietary internal structure to reinforce the mandrel bent tubing. In addition, we increased the thickness of the tubing to provide you with a harness mount that well exceeds all testing requirements for seat belt anchorages. This Harness Mount works with the existing rollover protection and safety features of the C8 to provide an excellent option for your C8 on the street or track.


Note: Because of mounting locations in the C8, the b-pillar plastic sail panel covers will require slot on either side to be cut. No other panels require modification. Sail panels replacements can be ordered from your GM Dealer if you do not want to cut the original panels. See Installation Instructions for Part Numbers.
