Replacement windshield wiper cowl, a common item needing replacement on aging E46 models

Cowl Cover
A cowl cover is a plastic or metal panel located at the base of the windshield, covering the area between the hood and the windshield. It serves to protect windshield wiper components, cabin air filters, and ventilation inlets from debris, water, and dirt while also improving aerodynamics and appearance.
Cowl Cover Failure Symptoms
- Water leaks into the cabin, often onto the floor or dashboard, due to cracks or poor sealing.
- Rattling or vibration noises from loose or broken mounting points.
- Debris accumulation in HVAC system, leading to reduced airflow or foul odors if the cover is damaged or missing.
