A High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlight control module (often called a ballast or igniter) is the electronic unit that regulates the voltage and current needed to operate HID headlights. Since HID bulbs require a high-voltage surge to ignite and then a steady lower voltage to maintain illumination, the module manages this process for reliable and stable light output. Without it, the HID bulb cannot function properly. Over time, heat, moisture, and electrical stress can cause the module to fail.

• Headlight not turning on – HID bulb fails to ignite even though other lights work.
• Flickering or intermittent light – bulb turns on and off or flashes while driving.
• Dim or uneven brightness – reduced light output compared to the other headlight, even with a good bulb.
