Product Information

Always remove the oil filter while draining the oil on Volvo 6cyl engines to ensure the anti-drainback valve in the housing allows for a complete oil drain.

This kit is for vehicles that have higher than normal oil burning. These engines can burn oil due to the piston ring design not allowing oil to retreat back into the engine after being scraped off the cylinder walls. This happens because the oil scraper ring gets clogged with carbon, pushing the oil into the chamber and burning it off. Doing an oil flush before changing the oil can help remove these deposits, reducing oil burn. Following up with a Ceretec treatment smooths out the cylinder walls allowing a thinner oil coating. These two steps used together have proven to reduce oil consumption in Volvo's earlier 3.0T and 3.2l SI6 engines.
