If your BMW's transmission is feeling a little clunky or is hesitating to downshift or up shift it may be time for a transmission service. We know what you're thinking, my BMW has a "lifetime" fill. Well, we'll put it simply: there is no such thing.

Any type of fluid will break down over time as it goes through heating and cooling cylces. One of the most expensive components on your BMW outside of your engine is the transmission and we absolutely believe that this is an item that should be serviced regularly for the best performance and service life.

BMW even changed their tune on this matter and now say that automatic transmissions should have an extended service (100,000 miles+). Here at FCP we believe that if you really want your BMW to operate flawlessly it is best to do a transmission drain and fill every 30,000 miles or two years.

This kit is designed to do a basic drain and fill service. This method is less intrusive than a "transmission flush" which requires a machine and proper equipment. It is not uncommon for flush machines to damage transmissions when not operated correctly and we especially do not recommend a "flush" type service on a transmission that has 100,000+ miles on it. A drain and fill is a lot like changing engine oil and is a pretty straight forward task.

You will notice right away that your transmission shifts faster and operates smoother. You can take it a step further by doing multiple drain and fills over the course of 10,000 miles to ensure all old fluid is removed from the system.
