A clutch flywheel is a heavy, circular metal disc (usually made of steel or cast iron) mounted on the rear of the engine’s crankshaft in manual transmission vehicles. It plays a key role in both engine operation and clutch engagement.

• Clutch slippage or poor engagement – worn or damaged flywheel surface reduces grip.
• Vibrations or shuddering – felt when engaging the clutch due to hot spots, warping, or cracks.
• Difficulty starting the engine – damaged flywheel teeth prevent the starter motor from engaging properly.
