OE dual mass flywheel
Your Mini Cooper's flywheel is an unseen but critical part of the transmission and clutch. The flywheel is designed to keep the engines momentum in between piston movements. In addition, the flywheel is the surface in which the clutch disc is pressed against by the pressure plate. With high mileage the dual mass flywheels are known to develop play between the inner and outer sections. This causes vibrations and can even lead to premature clutch failure.
We recommend replacing the flywheel when installing a new clutch kit to ensure proper performance and service life.
