Water pump failures are a common occurrence on high mileage engines. A water pump failure is never a convenient experience and it usually leaves you stranded where you don't want to be stranded. We recommend replacing your BMW's water pump every 60,000 miles as a regular service to ensure that you are never stranded anywhere.
This pump is manufactured with silicone carbide seals which will provide enhanced durability and long term service life. In addition the water pump impeller bearing is OE to ensure proper service life and performance.

Your vehicles engine water pump is responsible for keeping coolant flowing through the engine. As water pumps get old the internal bearing can go bad causing noise and a coolant leak. A good indicator that your water pump is failing is if you see coolant leaking through the water pump "weep hole".
