Gain essential front sway bar clearance for oversized idler arms and larger diameter sway bars on GM A-Bodies. CNC-machined 6061 aluminum with Grade 8 hardware.
Resolve clearance issues on your classic muscle car with UMI Performance's 4068 Front Sway Bar Relocation Kit. Precision CNC-machined from solid 0.75-inch 6061 billet aluminum with a corrosion-resistant black anodized finish, these adapter mounts move your front sway bar bushing mounts forward by 0.745 inches while providing a 0.75-inch bar drop. This added clearance prevents contact between the sway bar and replacement idler arms with oversized pivots or larger-diameter aftermarket sway bars.
Engineered for 1964–1977 GM A-Body platforms including Chevelle, LeMans, Cutlass, and Skylark, the 4068 kit features slotted mounting holes to fit both 2-9/16 inch and 2.75 inch center-to-center chassis hole patterns. Each complete kit includes two relocation adapters (4068F) and Grade 8 hardware in both 5/16-inch and 3/8-inch threads for a direct bolt-on install without drilling. Road and track tested at UMI Motorsports Park, this kit is 100% made in the USA.
Overview & Difficulty: Easy DIY install requiring standard socket set, ratchet, torque wrench, and jack with jack stands; estimated time is 0.5–1 hour. Installation involves lifting the vehicle, loosening end links to remove tension, unbolting sway bar clamps, installing adapter blocks into front frame holes, securing rear clamps, and torquing hardware to specification (18–20 ft-lbs for 5/16-inch hardware; 30–35 ft-lbs for 3/8-inch hardware). Re-tighten end link bushings upon completion. No frame drilling required.
UMI 4068 relocation mounts solve front suspension clearance conflicts on GM A-Bodies, creating the space needed for oversized idler arm pivots and heavy-duty front sway bars. By moving the bar forward and dropping it slightly, drivers eliminate annoying component contact while maintaining proper bar operation for street or track driving.
