The Dodson Sportsman 9/9 Plate Clutch Pack and Dodson A & B Clutch Baskets
Dodson developed this 20 steel plate and 18 friction plate clutch pack for high horsepower street R8 and Huracan DL800 applications with occasional drag racing and road race usage. Running 9 friction plates on both the odd and even clutch packs, a significant increase over the factory plate count, the Dodson 9/9 delivers a major jump in holding capacity over the stock clutch pack. Dodson’s specially designed wave spring technology aids plate separation between shifts, so all that added capacity comes with OE-like drivability, smooth engagement, and quiet operation.
Additionally, the Gearworks Stage 2 transmission utilizes upgraded billet baskets from Dodson for improved strength and reliability. The OEM baskets are notorious for breaking at the spline section and coming apart at higher power levels. The Dodson billet A and B baskets replace both factory baskets with extra strong billet aluminum pieces, resulting in exceptional strength and removing a common failure point on the DL800.

If any internal or external transmission components are found to be worn, damaged, or beyond serviceable limits during inspection, additional charges may apply for replacement parts and labor. AMS will provide a detailed estimate for customer approval before proceeding with any additional repairs.
