The Dodson Promax Multi-Plate Clutch Kit
Stepping up from a standard “street” clutch solution, the Dodson Promax clutch assembly is a complete unit with a full billet housing, making it nearly bombproof. At the heart of this clutch system are upgraded friction disks and steels, available as packs of 9/9, 10/10, or 12/12. This comprehensive design also includes machined billet high-grade hardened baskets, and a high-grade billet steel lid and splines with a billet turned cover. Dodson Billet Full 1-7 Billet Gear Set
If you’re making big horsepower on your R8 or Huracan, one of the best upgrades you can do is replacing the factory gears with a billet set. Dodson tasked their engineering team with developing a complete billet machined 1-7 gear set, including shafts. These full billet gears offer vastly increased strength over the factory gears to greatly reduce the chance of tooth failure.
Included AMS & Dodson Billet Upgrades
Adding some much needed shiny aesthetics to your gearbox is a plus, but make no mistake – these pieces add some very usable features and additional strength to your transmission as well. The AMS Reinforced Differential Cover & Transmission Brace replaces the factory cover with a fully gusseted billet aluminum piece, and three integrated billet braces for additional reinforcement across the transmission case. This added stiffness helps strengthen the gearbox case to prevent flexing that can misalign the gears, shafts and other components inside. In addition to improving case rigidity, the Dodson Billet Sump Pan provides for a replaceable upgraded oil filter element, instead of the non-serviceable stock pan/filter. It has been designed to reduce aeration in the oil before entering the oil filter and increase heat dissipation, helping to keep your transmission running at cooler temperatures.
Putting the Power Down
One of the most severe use cases for a transmission will always be drag racing, and specifically the act of launching the car from a complete stop on a sticky track surface. This is why we add both the Wavetrac Rear Limited Slip Differential upgrade and Dodson Half Shafts to every Stage 5 build. The Dodson short and long half shafts are extra strong replacements of the factory shafts to better cope with the loads associated with high horsepower drag racing so you don’t have to worry if the stock shafts will leave you stranded at the track. In addition to these shafts, we add the Wavetrac LSD for exceptional traction during hard acceleration, as well as increased reliability over the OEM unit. Simply put, if you plan on doing any kind of racing with your R8 or Huracan, these are must-have additions.

Additionally, the AMS Billet Filter Housing eliminates the vulnerability of the OEM plastic design, with its durable 6061 aluminum construction and leak-resistant Viton O-ring seal. This design also allows for transmission fluid filter changes, whereas the OEM pan and filter is entirely non-serviceable. If any internal or external transmission components are found to be worn, damaged, or beyond serviceable limits during inspection, additional charges may apply for replacement parts and labor.
