Is the hour meter water/weather proof? I need a new one for my skid loader, it is possible it could get wet at times. Not soaked in water, but may get sprayed. It's an older skid loader, and the part is no longer available.

The unit is not waterproof. If you need to clean down the equipment, it's recommended to cover the gauge with a towel to prevent any moisture from entering the gauge. For further assistance, please contact our technical support at 866-248-6356.

Is there a way to set the time? My boat has 100 hours on it already and I want to match the gauge with the current engine hours.

Unfortunately not. The gauge will begin to register hours upon first hookup and power applied.

What is the best way to hook up the power for only when the engine is on? Would the tach wire from the distributor work?

You could have any key on power so long as you do not have prolonged time. We can’t provide much direction on engine running recommendations.
