I have an HEI distributor on my motor. Do I need an inline resistor for this to work? I have seen in some cases the output of the HEI is too high for some tachs.

This tachometer should require no adapters to work with HEI.

Thank you for your question. This is an aluminum case and can be used with an MSD unit. There is a slit on each side of the base mount so you can use a band strap to mount the unit to a steering column.
