Really really overpriced for the quality of plastic put into this piece. Needs harder plastic or made of metal. Don’t recommend buying this product. Anyone could fabricate one of better quality for a lot less

Hello, would this work in a 1997 jeep Cherokee XJ. I was under the impression 97-01 were pretty much the same thing!!

We build these and label these according to the specific vehicle. While we know that this will work for 99-01, we do not have definitive information to confirm that this will work with a 97.

Want to purchase product 5381 but happens to signal light arrows and other in dash warning lights such as check engine, low fuel....etc. do these still have a spot and function with this product?

There are only provisions for turn signals and High beam indicator. No check engine, you have a fuel gauge shouldn't need the low fuel light...

Unfortunately, #5381 will not fit your 1996 Jeep Cherokee. All we have available for a 1996 Jeep Cherokee are A pillar pods, #15210 and #15211.

I purchased one of these dash panels from Jegs. When I received it there were no instructions in the box to tell a person what to do with the bracket it came with, etc. Please advise if instructions are available... if not, where does the bracket go?

Hi Tony, the 5381 Jeep Dash is designed to directly replace the factory dash in a JEEP WRANGLER 96-06 TJ or CHEROKEE 99-01 XJ. Due to the configuration and unique curvature, it may be difficult to adapt to something else. The overall width from end to end is 14.63 inches and the height is 7.28 inches.

Is there an available wire harness that would prevent splicing of the factory wiring harness for all the gauges?

Hi Kyle, thank you so much for contacting us. In a normal installation, you'd have very little interaction with the factory harness. Commonly only the fuel level input and maybe a speed sender input would be used. Everything else would be wired discretely. We do have a nice universal harness kit that is very useful when installing a tach, speedo and electronic air core auxiliary gauges:

These are front sealed against water/mud/etc and work very well in open top, off road vehicles. It's worth mentioning that any AutoMeter 3-3/8" and 2 -1/16" gauges will fit in this panel. Hope this helps!
