I have an older Phantom temperature gauge that I want to connect to a 5.0 Windsor Ford. I only have 3/8" ports available. My problem is that the Phantom gauge requires a 1/2" port. Is there an adapter that I can buy to make the sending unit work for me?

This gauge uses an Autometer 2258 sending unit. The resistance curve for the sending unit this gauge uses can be found at the top of the page at https://www.autometer.com/sensor_specs

do these gauges still have a light bulb socket on the back? I have a set and the light seems to be contained inside, not accessible. What will I be getting if I buy this gauge.

Hello! Our short sweep gauges have a tolerance of up to +/- (plus or minus) 5%. There are many additional factors like the thickness of the pointer and overall scaling and resolution of the gauge. Our Full Sweep Electric (Digital Stepper Motor) are more accurate and usually within about 2%.

I have an older set of Phantom gauges and need to replace 1 water temp gauge (5737). Can you get me the dimensions to be sure this will fit in my dash.

Thank you for your question. This gauge uses the exact same hole size as 5737 which is 2-1/16". The diameter of the gauge is 2-1/4", depth is 1-1/2" to the back of the gauge, and 2-5/8" to the mounting studs.

Thank you so much for contacting us. An AutoMeter temp gauge will always need to be paired with an AutoMeter sending unit. It will not work with any OEM sender. This gauge should use the 2258 sender:
