Product 6178 DESCRIPTION:
Knowing the exact air/fuel mixture running through your engine is the most important factor to extracting the highest levels of performance and durability. Not all wideband gauges are created equal. AutoMeter utilizes an advanced calibration method that automatically calibrates your gauge on every startup to assure you of the highest degree of accuracy over the entire lifespan of your sensor (no free air calibration is ever necessary). Compatible with nearly all fuel types, the AutoMeter Pro Wideband has a configurable display to pinpoint the exact range you want to keep an eye on. An advanced peak recall function and lean warning system make sure you’re safely making power, whether on the track or on the street. An automatically dimming display tailors light output for any condition. Data logging output is included for one wire or two wire systems in both lambda or AFR. Our specially designed O2 sensor and wiring harness are included for ease of installation. Quite simply, there isn’t a more accurate or easy to live with wideband gauge available on the market.

I am looking to put an afr gauge to put on a big block Chevy with a Holley E85 carb on it. I run an msd 6AL digital box. Any help would be appreciated.

My autometer phantom analog wideband o2 sensor will read correctly for a few seconds after it warms up and then goes to 14.7 and stays there. Is it the sensor or the readout that has gone bad?

Purchased 6178 but need 5v so want to purchase 6197. Can I leave harnesses ran from 6178 and simply plug in 6197 O2 sensor to already ran harness from 6178 and plug in 6197 gauge in place of 6178 gauge?

There are not a lot of differences, but the main difference is in the Volts and Sensors. The 6178 uses a 0-4v with a 4.2 Bosch sensor, and the 6197 uses a 0-5v with a Bosch 4.9 Sensor. The 6197 is the “Plus” version of the earlier 6178 model.

Thank you for your question. The big difference between the 6197 and 6178 is the Bosh Sensor. The 6178 has the 4.2, while the 6197 has the plus version at 4.9. Also, the 1697 provides a 0-5v data output comparable to the 0-4v of the 6178.

Hello John, our Wideband A/F gauges are only sold as a complete kit with a sensor. If you have a gauge now, you can send that gauge in for service.

I just installed your wideband AFR gauge. Only getting the three dashes in the SSD and it doesn't respond to button pushes. Tech support said no connection to sensor; I unplugged, replugged, same problem. I need help.

You will want to see what the gauge is displaying when the sensor is disconnected and the unit is powered on. It should go through its countdown sequence and display 14.9 (+/-.02). If the gauge is displaying this then there is a connection issue between the sensor and harness. If the gauge has no change then there is something else going on with the unit that we would not be able to diagnose unless it came back to us for evaluation. I would recommend giving our tech line a call at 866-248-6357 for further assistance.

Thank you for your question. You unfortunately won't be able to use this on any diesel application. Fouling and/or permanent damage to the oxygen sensor over time will result if used with diesel fuel. We also do not carry any wideband that can be used with a diesel application.
