Every device I used to check oil pressure via the OBDII has yielded a vastly different reading compared to a mechanical test gauge at the filter. 2015 Silverado 4.3. What happens if this Air Drive does not give a true reading?

Thank you for your inquiry. If more than one device has not agreed with your mechanical gauge, I suspect our Air Drive gauge will not agree as well. The OBDII protocol is standardized, so any reader should display the same result.

Thank you for your question. Since the gauge is not powered by an internal battery, it needs to be connected to a 12v power source and ground in order to operate. The wire harness included has a lead for power, ground, and lighting. I apologize if our definition of Plug and Play was misleading, but we use it to refer to simply plugging in a wire harness and attaching a unit to your OBD-II port rather than drilling a hole in your firewall, installing a sensor into your engine somewhere and then running wires/tubing from the sensor to the gauge. Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the Air Drive line will not work with OBD1, it is only compatible with OBDII.
