An Engine Oil Pump Pickup Tube is a component of the engine's oiling system that connects the oil pump to the oil sump (or oil pan). It is responsible for drawing engine oil from the sump and delivering it to the oil pump, which then circulates the oil throughout the engine to lubricate moving parts, reduce friction, and maintain engine performance.

• Oil Leaks: Damage to the pickup tube or its seals can lead to oil leaks, which may be visible under the vehicle or around the engine compartment
• Low Oil Pressure: A failing or damaged pickup tube can result in inadequate oil flow to the oil pump, leading to low oil pressure. This can be indicated by a warning light on the dashboard or an oil pressure gauge reading lower than normal
