Complete oil change kit for your E9X M3 featuring Motul 10W60 and an OEM Mahle oil filter kit
Engine oil in any vehicle is a critical lifeline. This is especially true in the case of the BMW S65 V8. Regular servicing not only maintains current levels of performance but also helps reduce wear. BMW stipulates that the oil should be changed every 15,000 miles. We and other enthusiasts do not agree with this philosophy. Instead, we recommend oil changes every 5,000 miles under normal use to prevent sludge buildup and to ensure that the engine has fresh oil.
Please note: Tightening torque for the M12x1.5 oil drain plugs is 25Nm (~18.5 ft lbs) of torque. The oil filter cap on top of the oil filter housing is to be torqued to 40Nm (~29.5 ft lbs) of torque. You can use a 36mm, 6 point socket for removal of the oil filter housing cap or order special socket CTA-2574
Over time, oil breaks down, collects dirt and debris, and loses its lubricating properties, making it ineffective. An oil change kit offers all the necessary components for replacing the old, dirty engine oil with fresh oil to properly lubricate the engine components. Symptoms include: dark or dirty oil, unusual engine noises like knocking, increased engine heat, reduced fuel efficiency, smoke from the exhaust, and often on newer models and maintenance warning lights.
Engine Oil Change Kit Failure Symptoms- Dark or dirty oil: When you check the dipstick, if the oil appears black or very dark, it's likely time for an oil change.
- Engine knocking sounds: A knocking or tapping sound from the engine can indicate insufficient lubrication due to old oil.
- Increased engine temperature: Dirty oil is less efficient at dissipating heat, leading to higher engine temperatures
