A fender Liner Extension (sometimes called a fender trim or wheel arch molding) is a protective and decorative strip that is attached along the edge of a vehicle’s fender, typically around the wheel arch. It serves both functional and aesthetic purposes:

• Protection: Prevents scratches, dents, and chips from road debris, stones, and minor contact.
• Aesthetic: Enhances the look of the vehicle by giving a finished, stylish appearance.
• Corrosion barrier: Helps shield painted metal areas near the wheel wells from moisture and rust.

It is usually made of plastic, rubber, or metal (with chrome or painted finishes), and can either be clipped, bolted, or adhesively mounted.

• Looseness or detachment – molding hangs off, rattles, or won’t stay in place.
• Damage or wear – cracks, dents, fading, or peeling of the trim.
• Rust and paint issues – trapped moisture leads to bubbling paint or corrosion around the fender.
