Product Information
All new turbocharged BMW engines use a direct fuel injection system which directly injects fuel into the combustion chamber. This differs from a port injection system which injects fuel into the intake side of the engine through the intake manifold. Direct injection fuel systems operate at significantly higher pressure than a conventional port injection fuel system. Due to the design, the engine really relies heavily on a properly operating fuel system. If your BMW is suffering from misfires or has a rough idle it can be due to faulty fuel injectors.
Note: Per BMW service bulletin SI B13 03 15 the injectors in the vehicle may not match with what is listed in the BMW ETK. After installation, you will need to enter the quantity compensation adjustment value into the DME using an appropriate scan tool. Even if the value is the same as the injectors that came out of the engine it is still required to enter these values. The picture below shows where the compensation adjustment values are located on these injectors:
A fuel injector is a critical component of a vehicle's fuel delivery system. It is responsible for delivering the precise amount of fuel into the engine's combustion chamber at the right time. Fuel injectors spray fuel in a fine mist, ensuring proper atomization and mixing with air for efficient combustion.
Fuel Injector Kit Failure Symptoms- Poor Engine Performance: A failing fuel injector can lead to reduced engine performance, resulting in a lack of power, rough acceleration, or difficulty maintaining speed
- Rough Idle: If one or more fuel injectors are clogged or malfunctioning, the engine may idle roughly, leading to vibrations and an uneven running condition
- Increased Fuel Consumption: A malfunctioning injector can lead to excessive fuel being injected into the engine, resulting in poor fuel economy and increased operating costs
- Engine Misfires: A faulty fuel injector can cause the engine to misfire, which may result in a noticeable loss of power, rough running, or even stalling. Misfires can also trigger the check engine light
