Product Information
A basic repair kit for replacing the expansion plugs and cooling jacket cover on M60, M62, and M62TU engines
Generally speaking, expansion plugs are an item that don't require servicing. However, in the situation that the antifreeze inside the engine does freeze causing the expansion plugs to move on the back of the engine block it will usually crack the cooling jack cover located on the rear of the engine.
This basic kit includes the required replacement items in order to service the expansion plugs as well as address any damage that could have occurred to the cooling jacket cover as well. Additionally, this kit includes 2 engine block drain plug crush washers as the engine drain plugs should be removed and the engine drained before performing this repair.
To prevent this type of damage make sure that you perform coolant flushes every four year with fresh antifreeze. This will prevent damage from occurring again in the future in environments that see below freezing temperatures.
