Product Information
Developed specifically for the M62 V8 found in E39s, E38s, and the Alpina Z8, these valve cover cap nuts and collar screws were engineered in-house to compliment the beauty hardware on top of the factory plenum. Serving as a corrosion resistant upgrade that won't tarnish. Made from 316 stainless steel, these bolts tighten to factory spec. Throughout thousands of miles of testing, our stainless valve cover bolts have proven to hold up against regular use and cleaning chemicals without issue.
This kit includes all of the required cap nuts, coil cover bolts, seals, and matching 316 stainless steel washers.
Note: Torque to the original valve cover bolt spec by hand (6Nm). The use of impact guns may damage the hardware finish. Due to the nature of the valve cover and gasket, galvanic corrosion shouldn't be of concern when using these bolts. If you are concerned about galvanic corrosion, thread sealant or anti-seize can be used.
Note: The installation of the grommet onto either the OE/ Genuine or FCP Euro versions of the forward 6 valve cover bolts can be challenging. While it may seem intuitive to use a pick to draw the grommet onto the bolt, it's very likely that you will damage the components or injure yourself in the process. We would strongly recommend using a valve cover cap nut or other M6 nut to draw the grommet onto the bolt. Simply drop the grommet over the threads, and then begin tightening a nut onto the threads of this bolt to force the grommet into place.
