Hood Stop Buffer

A hood stop buffer is a small rubber or plastic component mounted on the frame or hood structure that cushions and stabilizes the hood when it is closed. Its purpose is to prevent metal-to-metal contact, reduce vibrations, and ensure proper hood alignment with the fenders and front fascia.

Hood Stop Buffer Failure Symptoms
  • Hood rattling or vibration while driving, especially at higher speeds, due to lack of cushioning.
  • Misaligned hood fitment, causing uneven gaps or poor flush alignment with surrounding panels.
  • Noise when closing the hood, such as clunking or harsh impact, from worn or missing buffers.
