BMW X5M Complete Suspension Conversion Kit - FCP 31126791395KT

The BMW E70 X5M was not only the first officially M-hotrodded SUV, but it also set the standard on it's first swing. Beating out the Land Rover Sport, SRT8, and Porsche Cayenne Turbo S in comparison tests on release, and at the end of it's production run still besting the then-new Mercedes ML63 AMG.

The formula was simple, take what made the sedans fast, and apply it to a behemoth SUV. Big power, sticky tires, more camber, caster, tuned kinematics, and active-you-name-it. Well, that formula isn't exclusive to the hands of BMW's factories. With this suspension kit you too can bring an earnest slice of the X5M excitement to your own E70. Whether it be a diesel, straight-six, or V8 powered X5, this suspension kit will give you more mid-corner grip, sharper and more eager turn-in, stability under braking, and better steering feel.

This kit includes new tension struts and upper wishbones from the X5M. The new upper wishbones are slightly shorter than the original units - adding camber. The new front tension struts also add caster by pulling the bottom of the upright forward. The combination of both of these arms is a shorter scrub or pivot angle radius, meaning better behavior under braking, better feedback through the steering with wide front wheels, and a tire that's more square with the road in the mid-corner - adding grip. Caster and camber combined also means better steering self-centering, and a more loaded steering feel in the corners.

Torque Specs:

• Suspension Level Sensor arm: 8Nm
• Outer wishbone pinch-bolt: 56Nm
• Inner wishbone bolts to body: 38Nm +90°
• Top strut mount to body: 28Nm
