While it might seem intuitive to use the double-sided tape that's included with your front splitter, spoiler, or side skirt, there's a better and more reliable way to mount these components to your car.. Whether it uses additional mechanical fasteners or not, the adhesion promoter and 15' 3M VHB (Very High Bond) tape roll included in this kit will ensure a perfect mounting of most exterior body components.

Install instructions:

Step 1.) Clean the vehicle and component(s) where you intend to mate the two surfaces together with tape.

Step 2.) Wearing gloves, open one of the adhesion promoter packets, and gently wipe the applicator onto the surfaces you intend to install 3M VHB tape to. Eye protection and a respirator are recommended.

Step 3.) Allow the surface to flash-off/ dry until there is no liquid adhesion promoter remaining on the surface. This usually takes between 1-3 minutes.

Step 4.) Cut to length and apply 3M VHB tape onto the component to be installed. If using additional fasteners such as self-tapping screws, peel back a small ear of the red backing tape and use masking tape to create a pull tab a few inches long.

Step 5.) If using only 3M VHB, remove the red adhesive backing and press your part onto the vehicle. Hold in place for at least 30 seconds. If using additional fasteners, screw into place but do not tighten. Before final tightening, use the pull tabs you made earlier to peel back the red adhesive backing. Then tighten screws and apply firm pressure to ensure tape makes contact.
