Product Information
Contains 5 liters of ZF Lifeguard 5 fluid for the 5HP24 transmission, as well as filter, gasket, one time use bolts, and plug for a single drain and fill on L322 M62 powered Land Rover Range Rover vehicles. The complete capacity for the transmission is around 11l, but only half will drain.
- For a more complete service, replace the fluid and filter and either drive the car or run it through the gears while running, and do an additional drain and fill to replace more fluid. For this more thorough service, purchase an additional 6x ZFS-S671090170: [CLICK HERE].
- Torque for the oil pan bolts is 7ft/lbs (10nm). The metal used is soft and they are known to be sensitive to overtorquing. ZF recommends replacing them to avoid breakage in the transmission. [ADD TO CART]
- Set final fluid level with vehicle running. The transmission temperature must be between 86° to 104° F (30° to 40° C) before checking level.
The transmission oil filter prevents harmful particulate matter from entering the transmission valve body and damaging valve body bores, solenoids, and other fluid passages. Foreign particles in valve body bores, solenoids, or passages will cause shifting issues. Some of these issues include delayed shifts, harsh shifts, or no gear engagement in extreme cases. Clogged filters can reduce fluid volume and flow in the transmission causing starvation of the transmission pump. This can be identified by an RPM-dependent whine from the transmission bell housing area. The transmission oil filter should be changed during any fluid service, and it is critical to replace the filter if major transmission components are replaced such as the torque converter, transmission pump, or transmission valve body.
