Volvo requires new water pump bolts because they come with new thread sealant pre-applied. Thread sealant helps prevent leaks, as the water pump bolts thread into the water jacket in this application. The bolts can be reused if new thread sealant is applied. An appropriate coolant safe thread sealant can be found here: Permatex Thread Sealant
When replacing the timing belt the following tools may be needed:
